Invisible orthodontics is increasingly welcomed and loved by friends. If you're just starting on the path of invisible correction, don't think that wearing braces is a one-off task. We still have a lot of homework to do~

01

Adhere to medical advice and cooperate with your doctor.

During orthodontic treatment, you should follow medical instructions for regular check-ups: Generally, invisible correction allows for check-ups every 1 to 2 months, and some may even extend to every 3 to 4 months. Failure to follow up on time or not at all can lead to undesirable results without the supervision of a doctor over a long period, as the minor changes in teeth may not achieve the expected effects. We would not like to see this happen.

02

Pay attention after the orthodontic treatment ends.

After the orthodontic treatment is over, follow the doctor's orders to wear a retainer: This is because the "soil" around the teeth, the periodontal tissue, is undergoing constant "construction and reconstruction" during the correction process.

Immediate handling is required if attachments fall off: Attachments are small protrusions glued to the invisible braces, with one attachment corresponding to one tooth. If an attachment falls off, the corresponding tooth will lose control. If the space is large, it may rebound, so it's essential to fix any detachment or omission promptly.

02

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene.

Clean the braces.

Oral hygiene is especially important during orthodontic treatment! It not only helps prevent other oral diseases but also ensures the effectiveness of the correction.

01

Brush correctly.

Whether it's a traditional toothbrush or an electric toothbrush, both can clean our oral hygiene very well. Of course, you have to be more serious during the correction period. It is recommended to brush your teeth after eating each time, and brushing before bed is particularly important. Compared to the inconvenience of traditional correction, invisible correction allows for free removal of braces. We can adopt the Bass brushing method recommended by the American Dental Association.

02

Use dental floss in conjunction.

Because the toothbrush may not clean some hidden parts well, it is necessary to use dental floss for auxiliary cleaning. Use dental floss every day.

03

Clean the braces.

For the basic version, remove the aligner before eating, rinse with running water, and place it in a special box. Before wearing it again, use a soft toothbrush and toothpaste to brush the aligner. It's suggested to clean at least for one minute; the outer surface of the aligner can be brushed inside the mouth, that is, brush it while wearing it.

For advanced versions, an ultrasonic cleaning machine can be used, which uses high-frequency vibrations to efficiently clean the braces. The shock waves from the bubbles in the cleaning machine can break and peel off the dirt inside the braces that are difficult to clean, producing a significant cleaning effect.

03

Pay attention to daily diet.

Dietary considerations during adjustment:

1. Avoid overly hard and deeply colored foods: Compared to traditional orthodontics, which requires a diet to be as soft and mushy as possible, invisible orthodontics is much more flexible. Apart from avoiding overly hard and deeply pigmented foods (such as curry), you can generally eat normally.

2. Chew carefully and slowly: During the process of teeth correction, no matter what food you eat, you should chew carefully and slowly.

3. Ensure alternating chewing on both sides: This is to prevent atrophy of the chewing muscles on one side due to chewing on one side only.
